Where a corporate name change has been completed through Alberta Corporate Registry or a surname (last name) has changed for an individual, the carrier is required to update the name(s) on the current Safety Fitness Certificate (SFC). NOTE – This does not include changing from a personal name to company name.
To SUBMIT a Name Change application to Alberta Transportation, ensure that the following information or documentation is available.
NOTE:
The application MUST be completed by an individual named on the vehicle registration. When vehicle registration shows a corporate, society, or organization name, then the application MUST be completed by an owner, manager or director.
This confirms that you are an authorized third party and will be submitting the application on behalf of a carrier. If this is correct, then click 'Confirm'.
If you are not an authorized third party, then you must remove the MVID from the 'Third Party MVID' field on the Introduction Page and ONLY enter the security code. Click 'Cancel' to go back to Introduction Page to continue the online process.
